Pinto’s Provisions

I created this miniature store for the minatures.com 32nd Annual Creatin’ Contest, but sadly, the company changed ownership before the contest was completed. I decided to keep with the brief and made it anyways!

I imagined this space as an off-shoot of Bar Pinto, a project I worked on in 2024. The restaurant got popular and decided to open up a home goods and food market, right across the street.

It’s 1:12 scale and I made most of the items from scratch, aided by my Cricut and laser cutter.

I’ve also created a website for the store to continue the illusion: pintosprovisions.com

The store has a front room filled with home goods that I either made by hand or collected from other artisans.

The back room has a fridge and food products, along with the check out counter.

My Inspiration

The San Francisco Bay Area is full of cute stores and fancy food spots, all perfectly curated and arranged. I spent a year taking pictures and observing these spaces, capturing tons of inspiration.

I knew that my store would have arched, built-in shelves from the very start, and wanted to have an arched divider between the front and back of the space.

I ended up “kit-bashing” the Archy Arcade kit and a storefront kit, building up walls and connecting the space together.
